Easy IKEA Built-In
We re-purposed two BESTA cabinets (previously used as pantries) and our old 3-drawer MALM dresser for this easy IKEA hack.
Sorry, I did quite a lousy job on this one, because I neither took any photos during the process nor did I keep my notes with all the detailed measurements..
Step 1: We removed the baseboard. We then built a platform out of primed melamine so that it would be off the ground enough to open the doors (and also serves as a toe kick at the same time). The platform has also been secured to the wall (not the floor!). Instead of primed melamine you can of course just use some 2 x 3's....
Step 2: The white melamine board/shelf we purchased to put on top of the cabinets had exactly the length we needed (what a coincidence :-) We simply secured the board to the cabinets with some screws.
