DIY Giant Wall Art

I was eye balling big sized canvas art for quite a while but it usually comes with a hefty price tag...well, here we go, good old Pinterest....found some great tutorials and tried it myself a couple years ago, using some artsy looking shower curtains...The most recent one I did was for the newly renovated bedroom. I bought the Birch shower curtain on sale for $8.00 last year - quite a bargain!

First step: building a frame using some inexpensive wood boards. I used 1" thick and 2" wide boards and some L-brackets to put this simple frame together.

Cut the shower curtain to size and staple the overhang to the wood.

All done!!! I admit I am pretty obsessed with my over sized wall art :-) The first ones I did (two years ago) are also made out of shower curtains (the pebbles and the owl) and a wall tapestry I bought at Society6.com (the nerdy fox):
